purplehearts is an electro-industrial, nu-metal, horror rock band founded in 2015 by musician Mario Mitchell.
Originally a solo project, purplehearts quickly evolved with the help of RIAA-Multi Gold Status Producer Kevin W. Gates, who worked with Mario to bring his haunting and emotionally charged vision to life.
Initially, purplehearts began with a strong emphasis on emo influences, with raw, emotional vulnerability and introspection to the music, but over time, purplehearts started to incorporate more electro-industrial and horror rock elements with heavy rap influences into the music.
purplehearts' first hit with the fans, a track titled "Freak Show Society", released October 2016 on "The Dark Carnival EP", garnered attention from fans of both underground and mainstream rock, earning purplehearts a spot on the 2019 Gathering of the Juggalos lineup.
purplehearts is poised to push boundaries even further, continuing to evolve and cement their place as one of the most innovative and emotionally engaging acts in the underground music world.
